Megan Baker House

Athetoid and Ataxia Group

This group is specifically for children, who have an athetoid or ataxic type of cerebral palsy. It runs on Wednesdays from 9.00am until 12.30 pm, in term time only.

We work on improving the children's gross and fine movements, confidence and self esteem, speech and language skills, social skills, problem solving skills and ability to play alone and together.

During the sessions we focus on teaching the children how to fix their involuntary movements through dynamic, complex, targeting tasks in various positions and situations. One of the specific aims of the children attending this group is to improve their movements in the dimensions of space and time.

We also run block sessions, please take a look at the timetable to see when the next one is.
