The following are our trustees:
I am currently employed by Connexions Hereford and Worcester as the Learning Difficulty / Disability staff development and training coordinator. I have 25 years experience in working in the field of disability and I have been involved in the creation and running of a number of small local charities working for those with learning difficulties and those with physical disabilities. I have an HNC Mechanical Engineering, HNC Management Studies, Diploma in Careers Guidance, and the Advanced Diploma in Special Needs.
I am responsible for the capital expenditure programmes at the Cadbury Marlbrook & Cadbury Chirk sites. Previously I have worked in IT and as a management consultant as well as setting up and running my own confectionery manufacturing business. I am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and have a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Bristol University and an MBA from Cranfield University. I became a trustee of Megan Baker House following the establishment of a link with Cadbury Marlbrook as part of Cadbury UK's Community Programme.
Parent-Trus
tee of MBH. My daughter, Clementine, and I attended an intensive 6 week block placement at MBH, 4 years ago. My husband and I were so impressed with the progress that Clementine made in that short space of time, we moved from Hertfordshire to Herefordshire in order to attend the centre regularly. I feel that my role as Parent-Trustee to be essential to the charity, as I have personal experience of the difficulties facing parents and families with a disabled child. As an actual service user myself, I am able to give valuable feedback to the Trustees. I work in sales and marketing for a local lifestyle magazine and I am the Secretary of the PTFA of Westfield Special School in Leominster. I also enjoy close fundraising ties with Marches Family Network, a Leominster based charity for disabled children and their siblings.
