Last month at MBH

September 2016

August

Despite the centre being closed for the first two weeks what a busy month August has been.

Ross Rotary Club kindly chose MBH as their charity who were welcomed on board The Willow Trust barge boat. It was a fabulous day which we all thoroughly enjoyed and hope to apply for next year.  Sara Reed did a skydive in aid of MBH, it was a ‘big’ birthday so Sara decided to mark the occasion by jumping out of a plane. Sara wanted to raise money for MBH as her son Finlay has been attending weekly sessions at MBH for some years.

Monday 15th & Monday 22nd were known as ‘Mad Monday’ as they were the start of two very hectic weeks; MBH Holiday Club 2016. All jokes aside, we had two fantastic weeks where we welcomed lots of children each week for hard work, trips and lots of fun. Again, we were supported by Moor Park School who provided us with mini buses for our trips and also drivers. This year we went to Croft Castle and tackled the Beatrix Potter trail and also went to the Grove Golf and bowl for scrummy pizzas and a competitive game of bowling.

Sadly this month did mean a sad farewell to our conductor Hanna. Hanna has been at MBH since last September and has been a very valuable member of the team. She will be sadly missed by all but we wish her luck with her new adventure. We have welcomed two new members of staff, both of whom qualified this year. Maddy did her training at The National Institute, Birmingham and Dorina qualified from the Peto Institute, Hungary. They are both very excited to meet with all the MBH children and continue their professional development.

As always we have received some very generous donations and to name just a few we would like to thank…. The Barrels, Hereford who fundraises throughout the year and this year kindly donated £1000 which was presented at their festival closure night. Leadon Bank, Ledbury continue to support us and have made yet another donation this month. Ledbury ABI residents made a fantastic mosaic table which they raffled off and donated the £150.70 proceeds to MBH.

The new term starts on Monday 5th September, we are looking forward to welcoming back all the children after their summer break and also welcoming the new children and their families.
